After the test has been replaced by the compressor for Viair 480 c. Receiver located in the trunk temporarily, and later it will be installed under the bottom. When using the horn with an open moon roof, felt the pain in my ears!
Operating pressure 8,5-10,5 kg/cm2.

Why do you think that? Been there for nearly two years now, been off road quite a bit too. Bash plate has a few dinks and a bit of rust now. Horns still there and still work...

Alan, there is off road and then off road! mate.

If that every saw any serious off road they would wrecked as the surf bash plate does not stand a lot of abuse.

Fair enough. I use my Surf to get out and about when the weather is "poor". It's my daily driver - If I see a large pool of mud, or a pile of boulders I will find my way around it if possible. I will make the easiest progress I can in any given conditions to get where I need to go.

I can see the enjoyment in taking them out for a "play", but that's not my thing. I Know a lot of people love getting out of town at the weekend and getting stuck or recovering stuck trucks.

Each to their own.

I just wasn't sure from my picture if it was clear that they are above the sump guard (guard in the loosest sense - I know).

I don't do "hard core" off-road. I value my Surf too much at the moment! As the years have gone on I find I take it a little futher off-road than I did. I used to wince at gorse bushes and over hanging branches. As the truck body gets older, I'll get braver, I'm sure. To be honest though, if I got serious about off roading, I probably wouldn't use a 2nd gen Surf.

Life is a compromise for most people and what I have suits my driving at the moment.

To the OP. Thanks for the post. I've been looking to fit one of these for years, they sell kits from the US. Nicely fitted as well, May place that there on mine. You can tell you look after your Surf, some people on here abuse theirs by the sounds of things!
