Top and bottom windscreen bars bent up however, I only got the top one tacked in place. A mate from work turned up to get some welding done on his work hack. When you need an extra pair of hands the ratchet strap is your friend.

Second pic is wee early brithday prezzie, if anyone is looking for a hobby chop saw I can recommend the Rage, it cuts great with the multi purpose blade. At only £100 delivered it's perfect for us garage bodgers.

After some debate with myself I decided to go for a full front bull bar.
This would give the double wing bars I have planned for each side a much stronger brace than just the normal bumper bracket.

Problem with this plan is I want to keep the cage removable so I have started to knock up some tube clamps. The half in the picture gets welded in place you then offer up the wing tubes and bolt the other half from behind.
              Holes still to be drilled.

I have ran the outside ends of the bull bar at an angle to give a better look.
Maybe not everyones cup of tea but me and the wee lad are pleased so far.

I also got the bottom windscreen bar tacked in place.

I think a weld splatter from tacking bar on the night before, must have damaged the window.
There was a viair compressor on the driver seat and wasn't taken.

Plus am at the end of a 8 hoose culdy I canny see it being random mate.

Neal, Ross thanks for the comments guys.
I got a bit more done today, me and my lad at it for a few hours today.

After spending good hour making barckets I discovered that the cage wouldn't have slid back enough to lift off.
So I took my lads advice and shaped the tube ends and bolted straight through them. It worked a treat. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.

Excellent idea that , but when it's finished and painted up those bolts might stick out like a sore thumb, what about using something like coach bolts (think that's what their called) with the bolt head shape cut into your bars that way the only bit on show is the dome head of the bolt, bit of heat to bend the front edge of the dome down to meet the bar (because of the angle it will be at) and it will be just as removable but you'll only see a dome instead of a big bolt head.

Ok, it would appear that I can't upload photo's, even from photobucket so I hope you can understand what I'm on about lol .

Got the second roof bars in and the cross bracing.
The roof gives a hint of what the rear will look like.
Now waiting on more tube being delivered.
