  • harder suspension-but no lift?

Guys and girls,My hilux 2.4td surf main purpose in life is to tow my track car, after that its a general workhorse getting me around for work(electrician) it pretty much never see's off road

so thats the cars life story, now mine has suffered saggy arse syndrome for a while and now the rear is totally buggered and wallowy,so am in need of change.

I dont want to go any higher with lifts etc(a little is fine) and wanna have suspension hardness no less harder than what the standard hard setting is on the switch so what can you all recomend?-bearing in mind i would rather set it up for towing rather than offroading,

And do i need to change the front to?im guessing as im changing from standard to aftermarket i do

Or shall i just get standard again?
    cheers rob

Rob go for the milners 20% stronger/uprated springs as they will only give a very slight lift but ideal for towing. If your shocks are working ok then keep them on if not then get some decent ones from Roughtrax

      I agree with Stormy.
For my sisters truck (non-modified) I just slapped some milners 20% stronger springs on (the shocks were still fine). My brother in law commented on a more responsive and less wallowy back end. When ever they tow the tin box he puts the shocks to hard, and informs me he's happy with the ride.
      Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

Second hand shocks are as attractive an idea as second hand pants.

Buy pro comps or Ranchos for £40 a side and scrap the hard soft nonsense.

I would say the same aswell. All the trucks i've had in recently with after market shocks i haven't been able to get them off as the threaded parts just twist and break.Thats even after lubing them for several days before hand

Will i need to change the fronts as well to keep everything balanced?
or just replace the rears with above mentioned milners 20% stronger/uprated springs and pro comps or Ranchos shocks?

I'll store them at the unit then and if needed they are there for you or if i need to stick em on a truck then they're there.
