The temps they're quoting are completely different to what my aftermarket gauge shows... ie my surf gauge was smack in the middle with 108 showing on the aftermarket...

Pity some electrical handyman couldn't do this for us!

I would pay no probs.

Just send the gauge off and let the handyman charge a nominal fee.

Looks very fiddly!

No, the 2.4 (andd possibly the 3.0) have design issues with the cylinder head. And the gauge isn't crap, it works exactly as it was intended.

No. It's designed to only indicate a problem when a problem is close to happening. *Not* when it has already happened. It's a comfort thing for a domestic market.
