  • ATF cooler (again)

    Hi,

Am fitting Fluidyne ATF cooler as per this post - and want to get the pipes the right way round.

Looking at the front of the truck from the same persepctive as in the pictures, can you tell me what side of the rad (left/right) takes the hot ATF from the tranny, and which side is the cooler return side? My alternative is to take the traditional (but potentially painful) "touch it and see" approach!

    Thanks very much.

NEVER MIND!! Patience is a virtue - found the info in my next search:

Ah you had the fun with the search engine as well!

I did mean to start a thread that stated "If you want the cooler before the radiator use the near side (passenger side) pipe" I just had complications with my new radiator and the rest slipped my mind.

Hopefully by putting this here it will at least save the next person an hour of their life with the search engine trying to find a consistant answer.

That's after the rad, (the return), is it not, according to that other thread?

I sure as hell hope not. The probelm is useing the search engine throws up as many saying right as it does left (and right and left don't help either). In the end I found a diagram from Dirty Dog and used that.

Seems to be the nearside is the inlet.

The pipe towards the back of the gearbox is the return, the one towards the front (where the sensor is) is the flow. This was done via the scientific way of 'touch - owww! Touch - Ahhhh...'

I don't really care now, cause mines plumbed in.

                  But is mine correct?

Might help others to have a diffinitive answer.
