  • Home made snorkel finished(£44.00)photos

    Hi peolpe,started makeing a home made snorkel last week,and think every one should do it, All you need is a Socket set,Jig saw, Plastic down pipe, 1 90degre bend,1meter of Flex Tubeing,and Clips, Oh and about 6 hours,AND A BIG HAMMER,after a lot of skin off hands, All worth it and only 44 quid it looks lush

    Brilliant! Better than the Safari/TJM versions.
    Such a nice colour truck too. Don't you have cooling problems obstructing the grille with those spots? being a 2.4 an' all.

          The hole is very easy,get a card bord pipe about the same diameter or a bit bigger(its better to have one about 10mm bigger than the pipe your going to use and about same lenth,i used plastic down pipe like on ya house)then cut it with a pear of sissors,when you have it fitting nicely down on the wing, where you want it, draw round and cut,ps you have to take wing off to cut it, but leave it on to mark it,to trim it off i just used a bit of fuel hose and split it with a stanly knife

                    Just seen this thread mate, excellent job you made of it, i did mine last year but used alloy tube, and both sides, like the top you have! still looking for some for mine, bit of a problem as i wanted either alloy or s/steel, i did make some but they looked cr@p
