  • Advice on tyre size please

Bit of advice please guys before I hand over the beer vouchers should I win these, will these go straight on my truck without any other alterations. The trucks a 2nd generation 2.4, currently running on Yokohama A/T 215/80/R15 (101s)

The front 2 tyres will probably earn me a few points and a donation to HM Government at the mo, so need to source some quick and cheap.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Bu5h.
Helps if I add the link (doh!) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...876%26_fvi%3D1

Not necessarily. From your pic (and your current narrow tyre size) it looks like you have a narrow bodied Surf. In which case the 31"s will stick out a lot and may attract the attention of plod. If you go that route you should probably look to fitting some wheel arch extensions too.

I say again, YES. I had them on my first surf. Narrow body 2.4 with no lifts or other mods.

I know they will fit in terms of height, clearance, rubbing etc. But don't they stick out a lot? I guess that depends on the off-set of the rims.

Also, I checked the details here of the 215/80/15, against the normal wide body 265/75/15 and 31/10.50/15s. The 31"s will quite heavily affect the speedo - speedo says 55mph, actually doing 60mph (it's illegal for the speedo to read under BTW), speeding tickets on the way!

Not saying you're wrong, just trying to be thorough!

They didnt stick out on mine, and TBH I never gave the speedo reading much thought. mine however didnt have the standard Surf wheels, they were chromed 6 spoke steels

I have the chromed 6 spoke rims also, and like you Bogus, being a 2.4 I never give the speedo much thought !! I would be quite proud of her if I got done for speeding hehe.

Seriously though, thanks for advice both, I am looking at fitting wheel arch extensions at some point so if they do stick out a bit it will spur me onto doing it. Just gotta hope I win them now.

              Thanks again guys.
