  • GT4 Chargecooler?

    I wanna put a GT4 charge cooler on mine to be safe and run more boost, anyone done this yet?

        A chargecooler uses water and a seperate radiator to lower the inlet temp, more complicatied then a air to air intercooler but can lower the temp below ambeint,personally i`d usean air to air and water/meth injection.

          Why buy a surf. Not the best motor to choose to run high boost.
          Water meth injection seems to will work well but, I wouldn't inject pre turbo as some have found pitting due the water mist.

            Going by your comment, it sounds like you are used to improving the performance of petrol engines.

            These old diesels only run on about 10psi and the ecu will start throwing a fit if you get the pressure above (about) 12psi - so not a lot of headroom and not a lot of gain.

            These things are not like petrol engines where you can go north of 20+psi where chilling the air becomes much more important.

            Search the aussie site for terrysid - he has been experimenting with water/methanol injection with good results.

              Got 1 of them fitted to my rev 1 mr2 turbo good for 480bhp (proven and tested on imoc) with bike rad at front
              They sell on there own on forums for around £80 to £100
