  • 3.0 topmount intercooler

Fitted the scoop today. Here's some photos so far. I'll add to this as the mod progresses.

The Isuzu Trooper scoop underside sowing the mounting points. The rear centre one needed reducing in height. Cut it off, remove 5mm and glue it back - I used araldite.

The template I made for hole drilling. The square drawn on it is the size of the intercooler 'vaned' area. The only area you should expose to airflow to maximise cooling.

Pics of the scoop fitted. Its almost a factory fit! The colour match is slightly off, but I'll get a can of paint and do it before the final fitting.

Not fitted yet. Need one pipe fabricating, and an adaptor plate for the throttle.

Andy works on a different pace, we'll just have to wait a little while.

Had a half hour spare at lunch time today. Went to do a bit more planning. I need to make a bracket to attach the throttle cable adjusters as they attach to the intake casting. I also need to make some bracketry to attach the cooler itself to. I need to move the heater hoses, and get stein to make me a plate / pipe to fit the throttle...

Feck, I need to be independently wealthy, or live on feckin giros, cos working is incompatible with Surf modding!
