I'm gonna sound like the newbie that i am....

Do i need to make any special modifications to wiring etc? to change the standard headlight bulbs to Halogen ones. Or is it a simple take out- put in job?

    thanks.

I fitted 80/100 watt bulbs about three years ago and the wiring loom hasn't fried yet.

The best way is to upgrade the headlight wiring using thicker wire and relays, you'll find the headlights will be much brighter anyway without having to upgrade the bulbs. The standard wiring is too thin resulting in poor light output.

The standard headlight bulbs are already Halogens.
Now if you're talking about putting higher wattage bulbs in, then a wiring upgrade may be the way to go.
It's been discussed on here a few times before, so a search should reveal plenty of comment and opinion.

          hi there

There is a kit floating around ebay that will allow you to fit 100w bulbs without the worry of wiring damage. I'm sure it was £25-£30 inc a set of 100w bulbs. I'll try and find you a link if you are interested.

Why not try one of the HID Xenon conversion kits thats on ebay for about £70. Ive been thinking about getting one myself, they are alot brighter and are lower voltage

i bought a set for my subaru, H4 "Hi-Lo" fitment, hoping to use it in the Surf if it is the same. I paid £72 delivered and it is awsome, brilliant light dispersion, and soooo bright. And they only run at around 35watts. Well worth the money. And they only took a week to come from China

I'm interested in this kit for my Surf, but have a question.

Is it legal or am I going to blind people at night?

                Cheers!
