surely they wont be able to ban bull bars completely because what will the people do with trucks that have the bars built into the bumpers then

Wouldn't put it past this health and safety mad government. For those that are already built in then it'll be either change the bumper or tie a matress over the front incase you hit anyone or anything. In fact safer still everyone will have to stay at home wrapped up in bubble wrap.

Years ago new vehicles were supposed to be prohibited for fitting bull bars, but the bars themselves were still available, all that will change from june/ july when they benevolent EEC have decided that after after listening to all the arguments...... then just taking the ban it brigade into account....... that they are going to ban the sale of them. If your truck is fitted with one it does not have to be removed (and if we get to that point i'll remove mine by embedding it in a tree hugger!!!!!) and I believe it's the same for a 2nd hand truck with one on

This raises an interesting question, how the heck would they enforce this if everyone went to a steel fabricator and asked for "steelwork to sample" or built their own
Bring me the head of a treehugger

So if you're pulled over for having a bull-bar fitted, will the police be carrying socket sets to remove them or will they just impound the vehicle then crush it?

They'd impound it, remove the bars, then give you two weeks to collect your truck and pay them for the privalidge. If you don't collect it then they'll probably crush it and get you to pay for the privalidge of that too. It'll be set up to be another cash cow for the police. Hopefully get my bars at the weekend

                        Bull Bars

If you've ever bought anything from Roughtrax they are always updating me on new info regarding legislation. I got an e mail a few weeks ago about the bull bar isssue and It said it regarded new cars only. So don't worry guys. Like the massive tax on 4x4 the gov tried to scare us with it's all hype to scare people off buying one.
