              the spare wheel is going on the roof so its a step up and it also stops little cars from going underneath me.like an under runbar

                I thought that might be it but thought i'd ask, it would offer some nice protection for a stainless centre or twin exit pipe which would sound the nuts with your engine and planned intake, i also thought it may be to protect foglights or anything else round there.

                  mmmm.i do have to do something with the exhaust because it is way to loud so a nice centre exit exhaust might look good,
