Engine in bits (mods)

Just wondering while my engine is in bits (new head on way) is there any mods that can be done ??? .My exhaust as been done 3" down pipe 2.5 straight through stainless.
Can I:-
Gas flow and port a deisel
upgrade turbo (have 2 mill washers in already)
Mirror finish pistons (leaving outer carbon seal)
Ive worked on petrol engines before this is my first deisel engine.Golden opertunity to get stuck in.Many thanks in advance chaps.

gas flow on the head will work on a diesel as well.

Going to give it a go, align miss match between manifold and head and draw polish inlets and outlets. Pistons now are like 4 mirrors but Ive left a 5mm original bead on the outside.Valve faces next.Ive polished all the ports to give better flow even on the new head they could have been better . Camshaft can we up grade.While Iam at this stage Ill keep emailing companies for any info.Worst comes to the worst IF I blow it up Ill ring Stevo.Warranty on the new head my gamble. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
