  • Help!!! Failed MOT, Performance exhaust anyone?

Does anyone know where i can get a performance exhaust from? Or if anyone makes one for a Surf? Or do i have to pay powerflow prices to get one fabricated on the vehicle? If so what specs do i want it made up to to get the best out of the Surf?

I know there's loads of threads on here about exhausts but couldn't find anything other than powerflow or standard.

It just failed it's MOT for an 18inch long 0.5 inch wide split between the two rear boxes, sounds common from what i've read?

You won't get a off the shelf aftermarket system in the UK, so its Powerpoop or stock.

    Sorry.

£330 from 'Powerpoop' as Tony puts it (Cat back) fitted, more if you want a fancy split or bean can boom box
Sounds OK and notice slightly better grunt and fuel economy....

Cheers guys, went to my local classic car restorer coz he makes all his own exhausts, and he quoted £550+VAT to do the whole lot in stainless from the turbo all the way back. So powerflow it'll be then, I'm going to see them at their Dover fitters tomorrow to get a price but they gave £330 all in as a guide over the phone.

Got exhaust done at Southern Speedshop (Powerflow), Dover, Kent. £423 all in - 2.1/4" 304 Stainless all the way through including the downpipe, sounded lovely when i had it done wednesday. But broke down Thursday with gearbox problems, don't think it's related.

So I'm now Surfless till that's fixed. And carless coz the insurance + tax has run out, and bikeless coz some of the bit's i need to get that on the road are in the surf which is in the garage til it's fixed. Doh!
