  • 3rd generation body lift.... help please

ive done all the searching and im confused

apart from a body lift kit from milner i think i will need to alter the bumper brackets and fan shroud but can anyone tell me where to get a steering extension ( if i need one that is)

cheers in advance for any help.

    Regards,

I think DaSlugman (Matt) modified his own steering extension . The clamp bolt fouls the exhaust somewhere .

Here's a drawing and some points for CNC type machine if it helps.

I made one of these up out of nylon when I did the body lift, you do initially get some fouling on the exhaust clamp but nothing that cant be sorted with an angle grinder.

Have made some more up out of alloy but they are spoken for sorry.

I know Fish made his own up using washers and longer bolts.

The front bumper bracket just needs re drilling, the end caps need un bolting from the front chassis members (they do un bolt) as for the fan shroud you can just elongate the holes to make it so the fan don't catch ( didnt moving the the rad seemed more hasstle than was worth)
Rear bumper needs nothing doing but I did move the clamp for the handbrake using a piece of strip steel I had lying about.

I just bought a proper complete kit from 4Crawler in the USA.

it came with bumper brackets and steering column.

I also got a transfer box short shifter to lift the shift lever and stop it fouling the metal work/trim without cutting anything.

              They also sell parts individually.
              More Lift.
              More Tyres.
              More Engine.

3rd gen has a steering rack, and independant coil over front suspension set up so yea completely different from that point of view, but the lift blocks and positions of the blocks are the same. so apart from needing a steering column extension, the process is near as damn the same.

                      It's a terrible website.

And no worries, unfortunately I need a fair bit of notice these days
