Do you need to change belts for longer ones?

Nope we didn't in the end. The belts were harder to get on, but there was still enough slack on the normal belts not to need extended ones.

Changed belts a couple months ago so they're new belts too
        Thanks

Here are the pictures of the new 120amp alternator vs a 70amp alternator I bought from RoughTrax about 3 or 4 months ago

The RoughTrax one was very good (and I still recommend Rough Trax whole heartedly) but I just wanted more power for stereo system, adding on a fridge, etc. And whilst I was changing other bits in the car it made sense to do the alternator.

One thing to note is the position of the plugs on the 120amp one are slightly different. Fortunately the cables already in the car did reach so it wasn't an issue, but I thought it worth noting.

The new alternator is slightly bigger (noticable, but not a huge amount in it), and slightly tighter on the belts, but other than that it's a direct bolt in replacement.
            Thanks

Note in one of the pics the 140amp looks smaller than the 70amp but that's just the positioning of them and the camera
              Thanks

Just to add ive since replaced the cable that charges mine so that it can handle the load

I simply bought a 4awg (or was it 0awg) cable, and connected it to the screw on terminal on the alternator voa a 150amp midi fuse.

Cable, midi fuse holder, midi fuse, and a crimp on plug all available on ebay

I then disconnected the existing cable which went to the fuse box but left the plug in connector as is.
                      Thanks
