  • Need to get higher again

I have successfully raised my suspension by 2" and have to say I want to go higher still but cannot afford to buy the body lift kit yet because of the time of year. I have been told to put bigger tyres on the 16" sport wheels that are on my Surf with 265/75/16 tyres, anyone know if this can be done? Also what presure has my existing tyres to be at? Also thinking of buying bigger wheels maybe next year with the 2" lift in mind anyone know the max size of wheels that would fit without any problems?

With a 2" lift 31" tyres are the sensible maximum. You could get 33"'s on there - but they would snag the body at extremes of turning, even more so if used offroad.

Best thing is a 4" suspension lift and and maybe a body lift- then you can fit some 35" tyres- if you've the cash that is!!

call me thick but, at present I have 265/75/16 Tyres, and the tyres you propose are 31" do you know the tyres I should ask for and the correct size of them like the format that I already have

Actually you order 31" tyres however not sure if they are available in 16 inch. This is an American sizing. You can get 33"x12.5"x16 BF Goodrich however you will need 8 inch wide wheels as a minimum to fit them and at least a 4 inch lift.

I think the nearest to 31 inch diameter tyres are 285x70x16.

285x75x16 are just around 32 inches and these will fit with the 2 inch lift.

        Cheers

            Solid Axle swap

I don't know if the Hilux has a IFS front or not. You could lift with the shackles and leaf springs if you have a solid front axle.

All Surfs from 86-on have IFS. just like your US trucks and 4runner, UK and other places have solid axle pickups till about 98, but not Surf or 4Runner, they are the same years as the US.
