strange noise

Brought my 4runner home this evening from a days fishing and its started making a strange noise when you back off the throttle it not engine relsted it seems to be clutch or gear box.
it drives fine accelerating up the box but as soon as u back off theres this horrible drone.

the clutch is due for renewal but doesent seem any different

if anybodys got any clues would be much appreciated

Apart from what you've said check engine mounts are secure.

I had gearbox damage which sounded very bad up thru the gears and back down although it drove fine. It was definitely louder coming down and easing off. There was broken teeth everywhere on the input shaft cog and on the counter shaft corresponding gear which meant new input shaft and new counter shaft and the 2nd is very expensive from Toyota.

Thanks for that i'll check the mounts today
the shaft bit i dont really understand but the gearbox is smooth no noises changing up or down it just this this strange done as u back off, a friend mentioned the first motion bearing no idea what that does he said your taking the load of the engine and the back axle is doing the work. when u drop the revs or dip the clutch.
i did have problems getting it out of 4h after hauling my boat up the slip way it didnt want to come out at all maybe there related.
