So, out of interest, why did they put the 88c in the 2.4 and thev 82c in the 3.0?.

Well the more this tale unfolds the more it looks like the stat could be contributing to the overheating problems on the 2.4 (not the cause)
The one I have just taken out and tested was 88c
I am seriously considering replacing it with an 82c now.
(I put the original one back in for now as I couldn't make my mind up)
