  • Petrol in my diesel

Would 2 gallons of petrol into a quarter tank of diesel (on a surf 2 gallons or just over) be too much?

I tried one gallon and it did get my smoke down but not enough. Any commentations?

DRAIN it. I blew a TRANSIT VAN up doing this, all 4 pistons had to be replaced

Whack a couple of gallons of vegoil in to compensate for the petrol
Just re-read your original post. I would top the tank right up with diesel now. I don't think a couple of gallons in a full tank would do too much harm. If you are trying to give everything a good clean, my mate swears by a litre of kerosene in a tankful.

When I worked in a garage lots of years ago we had a Petrol V6 Transit in that someone had put Diesel in and then tried to start. The resulting bang launched the top of the Carburettor straight through the bonnet leaving a hole about 5 inches round.

          Cheers

When we were teenagers, my mate and me found that we could make our air rifles a bit more powerful and sound like real guns, by putting a drop of diesel in the dimple at the back of the pellet. We now know why and wonder how we remained in one piece!!

We used to shave match heads into the hollow points of our air rifle pellets and shoot aerosol cans.... Good fun an all.

I should imagine 2 gallons of petrol will be enough to solve all your problems .. permanently.

                Cheers

I think we have gone a bit off thread with this one. Have you thought of new injectors or getting the pump timeing checked, Jim?
