  • service schedule

The service manual that came with my UK 2nd Gen 4runner stipulates an oil change every 4500 miles - but I note a lot of people on here go with a 3000mile interval - any ideas why theres a difference?

Are you sure that service schedule is in mles? Sounds more like a kilometer service interval.

Its in his UK 4Runner manual! its in miles. and its what was in my old 4Runner manual as well.

3000 miles is a 'general' rule of thumb.

3000 miles seems short for a petrol. Even my old Peugeot 306XND was 6000 Mile interval and they plod on for ever.
          It's only a hobby!
