Paint again

Hi just went to halfords to get a paint kit and when i took the paint home (8e3) it looks purple , i went back and they said that there are about 4 types all starting 8e3 but have another letter after .I said that if i had known this i would have checked it out and he said that he would remix some more, does anyone know which code ?
