  • stabilizer (anti-roll bar) link bushings?

    as title,

The bushing/ cushions and retaining washers on the front link assemblage between the stabilizer (anti-roll) bar and lower suspension arm are knackered on one side of my 4runner. And on other side a retaining washer is missing. The link is the type with a ball-joint where it fits to the anti-roll bar,

any ideas where to get spares? - cant see the parts on Milners, guess its a Toyota dealer request?

    thanks

I had to get the rubbers the other week, you need 4 front and the same if your doing the rea as well, came out at £2.35 each + Vat.

Not sure which is the front but the part numbers were:

    T48817-30020 x 4
T90948-01002 x 4 Think this is the rear but not 100% sure.

This was for a 1995 Surf.

No it didn't need them on this one, but have got them in the past for other surf's and they got them within a couple of days, can't remember how much they were but not very expensive.

Its a pity they changed to the ball joint type from the earlier type which had a simple horizontal hole in the end of the roll bar down thru which dropped a bolt which was bolted at the bottom to the lower wishbone.

I'd like if I could modify mine to be like that coz for the test I need to buy a new balljoint which costs €89 and then the bushings are worn too

The link arm with ball-joint is (connecting ARB to lower wishbone) is £18 from milners, the bushing kit is an extra 4.50
, need VAT adding - but thats still a lot less than 89 euros!

Cant find the £4.50 kit on their site but I'm gonna get 2. Also the £18 ball joint link bar apparently goes from 07/91 to '96 but mines 03/91 and it has that type of link. I went by their dates a while back and took delivery of the wrong type of link bar plus bushings, still have them somewhere. Wonder are the bushings and washers the same type?

email or phone milners, as these parts are NOT on website,
not sure about compatility of the bushing kits,
but think you only need one, as it comes with 4 cushions/bushings

Andy I spoke to Milners today and she was reluctant to send me the 'anti roll bar link bar complete with ball' coz it was for the 07/91 3 ltr surf onwards.

Seen as she couldnt be expected to know more than the puter did, I left it at a 'No'.

Anyone know if the Milners dates here are f*cked up? I need that ball joint and dont wanna give my days drinking rations to Mr Yota

Ask what size the stud on ball joint end is.If 12mm and tapered like a normal ball joint then that is the correct size.Should also be a hole in end for an allen key to fit for removing.Bottom section that fits lower control arm is 10mm.

I know Toyota want a fortune for these as I enquired down here about them.If you get them can you post a couple of pics as I may order some if the price is right.

If the bushes and washers are 10mm ID then they will fit.

Got one today (link bar incl ball joint) and Milners were right - it doesnt fit an 03/91 2nd gen. Its at least 2" shorter than my one, which means the roll bar itself must be a different shape on the facelifted 2nd gens i.e. lower at the link end.
