Speedo sticking between 40mph and 60mph

Hi all
I have recently bought a 3.0lt auto gen 2 surf, I have rectified a few problem all ready. But the speedo is sticking between 40-60mph, this also appears to be delaying the gear change! Is it a speed sensor or is it a cable fault?

The surfs speedo use a digital input so no cable I would suggest it's the sensor, does your od light flash?

No, no light's flash, the speedo needle rises smoothly till about 40mph then it seems stick for a bit, then jumps up, once over 60mph it seems smooth again??
