  • Recovery point captive nuts

I'm in the process of making a new rear bumper for my third gen and today I got round to checking the captive nuts in the rear chassis rails. You can see the back one here has rusted through completely, leaving a slot in the side of it.

Just a heads up to check the state of the chassis fixings before you bolt up any recovery points, instead of simply assuming they're ok!

I'll be making up a new pair of captive nut plates!

    Top tip Dan

Good that you are in a position to be able to make up/repair
Life on the edge is short, but the view is great !
