  • 2" body and 2" Suspension help 3rd gen

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Body-Lif...w4pCMwQHrLYdVQ

Going to be doing a 2" body lift with these above and a peddlers 2" suspension lift on my 3rd gen.

    http://www.roughtrax4x4.com/pedders-...assembled.html

Is there anything I should look out for as I can't find a lot on suspension lifts on the 3rd gen

if your doing a body lift on a gen3 you will need a steering column spacer, or cut and sleeve the steering column, with some tube.

I thought that the 2" lift wouldn't require any modification to the steering column? and just to watch the water hoses don't twist

nope, thats gen2. gen 3 will need either of the mods.
spacers are easy to get hold off. Over Fabrications have them, in wiltshire.

Think I will hold off on the body lift for a while and just to the suspension lift and let that settle, then look at the body lift again

          Thanks for the tip though

On here it says the body lift does not require modifying the steering column, it's only the 3rf gen 4runners and not the hilux surf

              - '96 and later Hilux / Hilux Surf imply non-US models which are closer to the '95 and earlier US models

Suspension lift is done no real problems minus the back bolts on the front suspension lol
Anyone know what kinda size steering column I need for the body lift? Thinking better to have and not need rather than needing it and not having it lol

well, i can assure you that you will need a steering column spacer. i personally know of 3 that have been done recently.
for the 2'' lift, the spacer is 44.45mm long, so 1 3/4''

you will also need to remove the bottom section of the cowling on the fan, and may have to adjust the position on the gear selector. you will also need some front bumper brackets to suit the size of lift you have.
