Problems with 4wd & 2wd selection

Hi Everyone, could anyone give me advice, i have been looking at a 3.0 ssrg the current owner tells me that the vehicle has a small problem with selecting back to 2wd, his tale goes that he recently put the vehicle into 4wd with no problem, but when he tried to select back to 2wd after,the 4wd light on dash kept flashing, he thought that it was because he hadn't used 4wd for a long time and it got stuck, he also said that he had been in contact with a mechanic who told him it was probably a sensor on the actuator and the part would be about £40 to replace but couldn't do it as he was fully booked. Now in your infinite wisdom what are the chances that this is true and a easy fix or just a world of pain and cost and to keep well away.

Cheap repair!

Let him get it repaired and show you the invoice, then decide if the truck is worth looking at.

Its probably through lack of use. (There is tons of info on here on 4wd issues abdvrepairs ) do a bit of searching
