Locking Diffs.....

I'm after the locker type diffs for the surf. Is there anywhere in the UK that stocks them? I'm not feeling flush enough to spend the cost of the truck on the air lockers, but I would like a spartan or similar for the front and rear.

Do I have to go the US route?

Also as a radical idea...... Can the rear diff simply be welded up akin to how the drifters do?

I have yet to find somewhere over here that sells lockers.

I wouldnt recomend welding the rear diff on a truck you are planning on driving far on the road.

If you want a fully locked rear axle then the strongest route is probably a proper spool. Again yo would have to have one shipped from the US but they are not overly expencive.

I would be interested to know how you get on with ordering from the US with regards to delivery and customs charges etc. as I am planning to put an auto locker in the front diff eventualy.
