  • Lift Kit

    Hi All,
I am planning to fit a 2" lift kit to my truck, has anyone bought this one from roughtrax http://www.roughtrax4x4.com/?doc=16&cid=1145&vid=1801 ?

Is it pretty easy to fit ?
What in your opions would also be a good idea to change/upgrade alongside the lift kit ?

    Many Thanks for all advice

    Cheers

Hi. I lifted my KZN130 last weekend. The only things I did were fit a set of manual locking hubs at the front and a set of +2" springs at the back. Then cranked up the torsion bars to match and made a lift bracket for the rear brake bias valve.

It handles pretty much the same as before. I have driven it about 40 miles already with no problems.

All I will say is; I have read on here some guides saying you may need spring compressors. Trust me when I say ......... You do!

I ended up using compressors and a set of ratchet straps as the compressors were not long enough to pull the new springs down far enough to fit.

    Hope that helps.

      Thanks for the reply Spanner_monkey.
Does anyone have any experience with the kit itself ?

I used the search function and have read loads of posts on lifting, but most are from years ago.

You don't need uprated torsion bars unless you plan on having a heavy steel bullbar and big winch on the front. The factory torsion bars can be wound up a bit and are quite adequate.
