  • 2" lift body lift kit.

I'm planning on fitting a 2" body lift kit this week coming. I've WD40'd all the bolts in preparation.
I've counted 8 mount points. 3 down each side. 2 on th front bumper and 2 on the rear.
I understand the basic process but any experience and tips prior to starting would be greatly appreciated.

Loosen the clamp bolt on the steering shaft inside the truck, just
above the pedals, don't forget to tighten it up afterwards.
Its best to do one side at a time, loosen all the bolts on both sides,
then remove bolts on one side, jack up and fit spacers and new bolts then move onto the other side. The curly brake pipes on the front between
the chassis and body will need gentle teasing to get them to extend
as your raising the body, same goes for the loom in a couple of places,
just release it from the clips.

    Good luck
p.s By the way, three body mounts down each side, two on the front and
two on the back is ten.
Also, I don't know what truck you have as its not in your profile, if its a
2.4 you'll need to lower the rad 50mm as well.

Good luck with the lift. I did mine recently and it really is quite an easy job.

Many thanks. Where exactly is the clamp on the steering shaft. I had a quick look and couldn't see it.

Cheers Mick. That helped. All sorted now.

However my brake pedal is now really hard. Have to stand on it to stop the vehicle. Also the brake warning light has come on. Everything was fine yesterday after the lift but all different this morning.

That sounds like you have no vacuum for the servo....

Many thanks for the advice. Checked today and it was a vacuum pipe that had come off. All fixes now.

                          Thanks again.
