Power Steering PAS fluid same Dexron? and will fuel hose perish?

I had the pipe from the bottom of the PAS reservoir split yesterday, so emergency repairs meant the only hose i could find to fit was "gas/emission" flexi hose. Equally, the only fluid I could lay my hands on was STP bog standard PAS fluid, with no standard or spec anywhere on the bottle.

Reading afterwards, I see Toyota spec a Dexron ATF fluid.

Anyone know if the normal STP PAS fluid the same? or do i need to flush? This post on Yotatech suggests I will be OK, but I always like a second opinion, especially with US boards:

Also will the fuel hose last, or disintegrate before too long...?
