Toyota Surf Gen.3 clutch noise

I have a generation 3 toyota surf manual when its ticking over or driving I can hear a screeching noise from the clutch when I press the pedals slightly down the noise goes away I have been told it's a thrust bearing can anyone help? Can I replace the bearing only?

You can, but you still have to take the gearbox out,so replace the lot whilst at it.

Autodata books it at 3.3 hours to remove & install
