Rear Mount Winch

Has this been done on a surf before? I know you can get tow bar mounts but as you can see below I took mine off in favour of a steel bar.

I was considering putting one under the truck but I would have to ditch the spare...


Yes I am being difficult as I don't have the skills to fabricate a winch bumper. Not to mention a rear mount winch almost guarantees you can get out of any hole/swap you got yourself into.

i know a guy in norwich was working on that on a 1rst generation and got it nearly done it when i was last there, i will ask him if i can take pic of it next time i talk to him.

Don't think I have ever seen one before. All you need is a decent cradle made for it and mounted to the chassis properly.

The drawbacks really are that it would be a pain in the arse to maintain and the loss of the spare wheel, I don't think I can get around that. I can't loose the bumper because the body has started rotting in the corners; another job to sort out.
