stuck in park and vibrating brake pedal!!!

Hi guys, ive got an ssrg 3ltr auto and wondered if anyone could tell me why my gear shift wont come out of park and when I turn the engine on with my foot on the brakes it makes a noise and vibrates for a second or two?
Checked fluid level,thats fine.
Dont know if my pads need replacing or if its a sensor.
Any help would be great.

Pedal vibration at start-up is the ABS system getting confused because you have your foot on the brake pedal.


Check both your stoplight bulbs and/or fuse are working re: the gear lever problem.
A blown bulb disables the shift lock mechanism.

Hi, changed the 10 amp fuse under the bonnet and a brake light and all is well.
