  • Diesel leak 2.4 engine

Hi I have diesel leaking out of the bottom of my timing belt cover can any one help and tell me what I need to do to fix it

    Thanks for any info

The only possible way diesel can leak from there is from the front seal of the pump. Are you sure it's not coolant? Water pump is behind there.

Sounds like it may be beyond your mechanical skills but take a look at the link below.

          http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/24table.htm

If it is the front seal leaking then after you remove the pump sprocket you may be able to do it without removing the pump. Never looked at doing this so not sure if it's possible. The seal is a 22544-64740 genuine part number and Denso 096039-0040.

                          Hi

Now, the hardest thing about sorting the fuel pump is getting the bottom pulley off. Easiest thing to do is remove the radiator, and get a hydraulic puller. Do not hit the pulley with a hammer as you will ruin it.
