Changing outer CV boot?

Hi guys
Is there a "how to" on changing the outer CV on a Surf anywhere?
I dont have a manual and need to do it ASAP, its split and lost all its grease.

sorry, forgot to say BOOT, its the outer CV boot that needs changing.

You have to pull the drive shaft, undo the hub drive plate (cone washers are a pain, thump the hub between the wheel nuts with a club hammer to loosen them), and remove the nut and washer in the end of the shaft, and the snap ring. Then undo the drive shaft bolts on the diff end of the shaft, these are usually really tight, so have a good spanner handy. Then remove the bottem shock bolt and pull the shock out of the way. them you can wiggle the shaft out, pull the inner side down past the bolts, them pull the shaft back though the hub.

Its easier to do the job with the car on the deck with the wheels on as the shaft comes out easier with the suspension compessed.

you cant dismantle the outer CV, you need to remove the inner one first, pull back the gaiter and find the snap ring that holds it onthen do the gaiter for the outside one, then put it back together.

Don't forget to matchmark all parts to get them back together the same way.

Give the inner joint a good clean and rotate it and check for slack if its got dirt in it.

While you've got it off, check the bushes that the shaft runs on though the hub.

Just to add to that link I tried the two bolts in the hub thing to remove the dome washers and after bending two bolts and snapping one off I came to the conclusion it wasn't happening.
So a quick phone call to a friend and one hammer emerged, keep banging all the way round the hub adjacent tot the cone washers fairly hard and ping off they came as easy as that. Just keep an eye on the little suckers as a couple really did come flying off.
