  • Crunch/Scrape sound on wheel lock

I purchased a surf 2.4 (auto) this week, but reversing onto my drive last night I noticed a crunching/scraping sound and feel when I turned the wheel to a right hand lock.By no means a full lock, could it be something serious ?

    Any ideas ?

    regards

That'll be your steering stops. At the bottom of the hub is a nut that hits a stop. These are supposed to have a rubber cover, but normally they fall off/wear out.

Just put a dab of grease on the stop and that will stop it.

        Thanks for the info !

I shall give that a go,although I'm still struggling to find my way round the forum, let alone the underside of the motor !
