The truck itself is really clean and tidy as in no dents or scratches also no rust.
The radiator had a leak and it needed a good service, then I started noticing things like the shocks and springs had appeared to of turned back in to iron ore.
So got the rancho kit for it, all new bushes, new callipers, radiator, water pump, thermostat, cambelt kit, changed all the oils, new drop links, and some BFG A/Ts
Braided brake hoses, replaced a few brake lines and under sealed it all by hand.
The 2 inch lift looks great. I must get some pics up on here, just need to find out how.
I have done all this work as I intend to overland and camp with it this summer in Europe
It's a good investment really.

Sounds like me Most of it I can see in my future. Already done the new rad, coolant and cam belt stuff...and others. Not even had it a month.

those that have bought the Roughtrax ally rad - does it have the same silly design as the OEM Surf one on the 1KZ-TE where the trans cooler blocks most of the bottom pipe?

Look at the pic. Transmission cooler connections are either side of the coolant pipe, so I would say yes.

Yeh, the one I took out of mine, the one from RoughTrax (which was returned) and the one I eventually fitted (brass) all had that design.

Seems to make not one jot of difference to the efficiency of the unit.

the aussie forum goes into a fair bit of detail saying how the OEM design nearly blocks the flow at bottom pipe, (and after seeing mine I'd agree) which would help explain the system's limited cooling capability under heavy load under high ambient temps on the auto. I couldn't get my temp guage to so much as move in the UK, but on long steep climbs out here on a 40deg day, if i let revs go over 2.5k it will start climbing after about 30-60 secs... The OEM rad auto cooler very nearly blocks the opening entirely. Does the Roughtrax one leave a bit more space? that picture isn't totally clear although i can see it is present. Lots of people reported improvements after either moving the bottom pipe fitting to the right of the cooler, or fitting a shorter trans cooler (and additional trans coolers)
