  • 3 Wheel Drive?????

Had my truck up on axle stands today to investigate a vibration (20 to 40mph)
Greased all the prop points while it was up and decide to lock my front hubs and check the 4wd.

    Here's the resulting video_________

Anyone got any clues where to start looking???

What happens if you stop the nearside wheel rotating...?
Looks to me as if the diff is doing what it's meant to... or you ain't locked it properly!

A bluddie good wash will fix that!

The passenger side front wheel freewheels when in 2WD, when 4WD is selected, the vacuum 'bellows' in the A.D.D. actuator slides the fork across to engage the passenger side whee driveshaft, and at the same time the transfercase engages the front propshaft.

Either the driveshaft isn't engaged properly or the brake caliper is sticking and the brakes are dragging on that wheel.

Cheers Vince, ran out of time today to check any further!
The wheel spins fairly freely when off the deck (even tho' 3 of the 8 pistons are seized, refurbed calipers waiting to go on),so looks like I need to check the 4wd actuation!.

Hang on, just realised thats the driver's side front wheel thats not turning very well, d'oh!!

In that case, 4WD and the A.D.D. are working, most likely the caliper is dragging on that wheel.
Does it turn better in L4?

Sorry Vince, speed reading doesn't help!!!! as I didn't pick up on the "passenger side" comment.
Truck seems to be running ok in 2wd at the moment which is a blessing after the week I've just had with motors!
Will get to look at 4wd again at the weekend, but the callipers certainly dont appear to be holding/binding on that wheel at all!!
              Any further suggestions mate?
              Thanks
