Hi Damian, If I remember correctly you can tow upto 100% of your vehicle on a braked trailer....so that'll be around 2 ton (approx 4000lbs).
I know its been covered in the Towing & Caravan discussion many a time. Hope this helps

You should be fine , i have a 3.0 93 surf and have towed a 30ft 2.5 ton boat and it was fine .
But remember lots of weight means long stopping distances .
o one thing more if you are going up hills she might overheat this is due to the cooling system not being up to the job .but take it easy and you will be fine
saw on an african touring website that is can pull 2500kgs. had mine weighed and its 2080kgs inc me! Anything upto 2000kgs (2 ton) should be no probs. Although I also get heating probs when towing 1600kgs twin axle caravan up long hills!
