  • Help please, I've found a bolt..

I found the bolt below on the gravel as my wife reversed truck out yesterday. It could only come from the surf (kzn130) but does anyone know where from..?
    What's about to fall off..?
    Many thanks.

Have you had the head replaced recently?

Looks like an exhaust manifold stud to me.

The kzn130 exhaust manifold stud has a torx end to it if i remember right, you wind them out to remove the manifold straight up off the turbo.
Could be the other end of the turbo where the down pipe bolts on. Three studs into the turbo outlet.
Drivers side, on yer back just behind front wheel, look up and follow the down pipes up to the turbo flange..... make sure its cold first
        Remember arrows are silent.....................
Don't forget to tell everyone its indestructable as seen on top gear.......

That's just a spare slab I leaned against the wall. I was gardening when I found the bolt lol

Check the nut size, if its 12 or 14mm A/F its off the Surf, if its 13mm its off something else.

Its not rusty enough to be an exhaust bolt!

              What size thread/nut is it?

You may find it just one someone dropped onto the bashplate while doing something and replaced it anyway, and its just rattled out now.

Could be one of the four studs that mount the pulley to the water pump.

If anyone can have a go I'll plump for "Starter motor"

Is there a prize for the winner?

                        Thanks all.
Finally had a chance to look round today. And couldn't find a ###### thing!
The nut on it is 17mm..

If its 17mm nut and it's original then Dave's guess is a good one, there's not many studs and nuts thats size on a Surf.

                            Well DaveC you were correct!
And it took until today for the starter to work lose and spin instead of engaging.
When I first posted this I tried to wiggle the starter and feel around it but couldn't. Today I can rock the starter back and forth.
                            Now to refit..
