  • OEM dampers. Hard and soft setting.

    Hi all,

i am looking for information on the specific operation of the OEM damper units.

In particular I am researching how the damper rate is changed. To date all I have ascertained is that there is an solenoid on the top of the OEM dampers.

Does anyone know exactly how the damping rate is changed on the surf suspension?

I have my suspicions but for the purposes of research I need a definitive answer.

The solenoid part turns a valve in the top of the damper to restrict fluid flow.

      valves..

is that via twisting the shaft, and adjusting the oil apertures via two perforated discs?

        Yes.
The actuator (solenoid) twists the shaft 90 degrees.
