unidentified hose?

Hi

Just been checking oil and water etc, and looking at how to change headlamps.

I noticed a small rubber hose tied to the right hand battery main cable which goes down the side of the radiator. Looking at this hose it comes from the bottom near the radiator and basically follows the battery cable up thenis dangling back down next to the radiator. It looks like a small vac hose but I can't see, if anywhere, the loose end should go to. It does have a small white push fit in the end of it.
All seems to be running ok, and 4X4 selector works ok so not sure what it is for.
Will post a pic of it as soon as i can.

it may be a breather for the diff.If you can get a pic of it and post up we will be able to say for sure, but it does sound like an extended diff breather

The A/C fan motors have a breather each, its just that, they t into one hose and it just comes up engine bay hangs by the O/S battery.

There is usually a flared rubber 'cone' on the end.
