  • Clicking noise

    Hi there again

Thanks for your help with my last issue. I have a loud clicking/grinding noise from the front wheels when on full lock but only when 4WD is engaged I also have a clattering noise from the front wheels when it is in 2WD, both issues are on the drivers side, any ideas and should I be worried?
    Many thanks.

I had similar problems a little while ago, it turned out that the hidden circlip on one of the cv's had broken and had been chewed up in the joint.

This is a good "how to" for removing drive shafts and if it is the circlip thats gone the joint justs slides off easily.
      Non consternationes.

When you're testing, are you doing it on loose or very slippy (wet roads do not constitute 'very slippy') surfaces?

I was on sand/dirt but it wasn't very slippy, it doesn't click when in 2WD though.

As i understand it, a worn CV would only click under load so this is still a possibility.
