  • 4wd problems.

I recently purchased my first surf, its a 1996 jap import ssr-x, its a fairly standard vehicle. When i returned home after purchasing i realised the 4wd was not engaeing, someone had also taken out the bulbs on the dash indicator and when i replaced these all the light would do is flash on and off constantly even when put back into 2wd at times. I checked all vacum lines and they are perfect, i ran power to the 4wd actuator on the transfer case and the fork slid into place and stayed in 4wd i then went into the cab and selected 4wd with the lever and the front differential also locked and i had 4wd for the first time, when i took it out of 4wd on the lever and tried to put it back in it would not go. I have also checked all switches and they appear to be working fine bar one that i cant figure out what its for it has no continuity with the 4wd ecu. Basically what i want to know is what triggers power to the actuator on the rear of the transfer, i have done a search but on the topic but i need to find out a bit more info, here are a few pictures of the switches and my setup.http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk102/spillae86/Photo0065.jpg

Pictures of all switches bar the one on the front diff i seem to have 6 in total including the front differential, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I also forgot to mention that sometimes im in 2wd the light isnt flashing and i turn off the jeep then i get back in the next morning and start it in 2wd the light is flashing and my centre shaft is locked but no 4wd even when i select it, after a short drive the light goes out and the shaft is free again, i cant figure out whats going on.
