  • Crunching sound after 2" lift?

    Hi

I've just give my 3l TD 2nd Gen 1993 Auto a 2" lift so my 33" tyres would fit

But now there's a grating crunchy reving sound for a few seconds when I first turn the engine over

It only happens when the car has been sitting unused for several hours or overnight. It's coming from the back of the engine/gearbox area and it sounds really unhealthy.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks James

            Nothing, I was sleeping..

Have you ripped the rubber seal around the steering column, or left any out around the shifter and you're just hearing more noises than before?

Is this noise as you are cranking it or after it has started?

I feel like such an amateur? lol

It was really quite simple. I forgot to do one of the simple things that is noted on all the guides for a 2" body lift.

But it really did make a awful sound that lasted for a good 5 to 10 seconds and sounded like gears crunching

I forgot to remove the lower radiator cover/cowling

Well thanks for your help peeps.
