Help PLEASE!!!!

we bought a 91 2.4 surf ssr-x it was fine for a couple of weeks, then one hot day after driving somewhere it failed to start. Turned over but didn't fire up 30 mins -1 hour later no problem ...really hit and miss; only happens after a run and will always start about an hour after first attempt had rac look at it suggested fuel primer/filter poss air leak ... had a mechanic look at it in cornwall he vacuum checked it and filter. all appeared fine couldn't find anything wrong, cleaned fuel primer assembly etc... and we had it back, happened again 3 days later so booked it in to our local garage again same thing couldn't find anything. Had yet another encounter with the rac today outside mothercare and he was completely stumped no one it seems has ever encountered this problem any ideas would be much appreciated

Someone posted a simmilar problem a while ago. The outcome is not too clear, but it might be worth a look.
