  • Exhaust bolt size

Thanks to a loving previous owner I seem to be the proud owner of the only Surf with a one piece exhaust system.

As it's now blowing, I've got a nice new one to fit but; it has no bolts to connect it together 'cause you don't need bolts when you have a mig welder.

Went for a rumage in the shed and returned with a fist full of M10s but guess what????

Anyone know what thread they are before I get cross and break out the tap and die set? (or the mig welder)

mine i think are a m8 thread with a 12mm head, but 13mm bolts fit just fine. are u talking about the couplers or into the head? as the manifold head bolts are completly different....
    ALL THE GEAR!............no idea!

No the ones that bolt the individual sections together. They have a 17mm head but they are not M10 even though they are close.

I've asked Barry @ Roughtrax and he says they are a standard exhaust bolt size that any motor factors ought to stock. We'll see about that one. They WILL be M10 come Saturday tea time if I get no joy.
