I have fitted a brand new engine in a 2.4 surf. I have bolted the flywheel on with the notches facing towards the start motor and put the bolts on with the packer. I dont know if I have put the flywheel on the right way round. When we started the engine there is a noise which sounds like something is hitting the bell housing and the starter motor does not instantly disengage, it overruns. Any suggestions? It is an automatic, do I need to pack the flywheel away from the crank with the round packer, or do i need to turn the flywheel around. please help
