  • Hilux Surf = 4runner as far as floormats go?

I'm looking at getting Weathertech floor liners, they are specially molded to be an exact fit for the 4runners, but I wanted to make sure there were no differences between the Hilux Surf and they would fit if I got them. Does anyone know if the footwells are shaped any differently?

My concern with fit is due to the extreme precision they have used in the design of these mats, if there are minor differences due to the pedals being on the opposite side, or to the kick panels in the outside corners of the footwells, then these just wouldn't fit right, and they are way too much money to have them not fit.

Here's a link to the mats I'm looking at:

        http://www.weathertech.ca/store/mvpr...=637&Year=1996

There doesn't appear to be any cutouts for the pedals on the "driver side" mat as far as a LHD is concerned, so hopefully they will work on a RHD just as well.

if they are listed as lhd drive ones for the lhd 4 runner, i wouldnt think they would fit in a rhd surf

ifyou look carefuly the left n right ones are slightly different

check out the pic i posted up, you can clearly see the different shapes between the left n right sides

top right mat, is the drivers side mat, see the littl ebit that just out, top left of the mat, that sit rounds the foot rest for your left foot

the square cut out to the top right of same fit is to allow the accelerator pedal to travel fully so is cut out around it

i would suggest from the images that there is a difference between left and right and drive models, but without trying them, who knows if they'll fit - big gamble just to find out

hence why i went for the rougtrax ones, they fit ok, much cheaper and also include the boot liner set

Those roughtrax mats are for a KZN-130, not a KZN-185, so that could account for the differences as well. Thanks for the responses guys!

Hey John! When I go looking for info on a new vehicle, I look where ever the info happens to be, lol! This is the best Hilux Surf specific forum I've found, and you can sort of make out the "English" on here too, lol! It's amazing how different the slang is sometimes!

That sucks about the floormats, I really wanted to go with the Weathertech's. Maybe I'll wait until I find someone with a set I can test fit (likely never happen, lol). Either way, I need a cargo tray.

I have mats from Costco for $16 USD, and a $80 ish Husky liner for the back and they are both awesome, they are both holding up great and i didnt have to drop $200 on the set, now the fronts are a bit generic but hey they don't look bad and it fits with the rest of the truck.
